The Church Clock is Back!!!

We are delighted that the church clock is now back! After over five years of fundraising, we were delighted to be undertaking our bell restoration project. All eight bells were taken away from the church for tuning and were returned with new fittings and re-installed. This also meant removing the mechanism that drove the four clock faces of the tower as it blocked access to the bells.

The hourly chime is still not restored - this is the next thing we need to do and involves connecting weights to the clock chiming mechanism.

You may have heard the bells ringing as they were tested during the re-installation. If everything goes to plan, the first proper Sunday monrning ring will be on Sunday 1 November.
