Letter from the Vicar

21 March 2020

Dear church,

I imagine it has been many years, if not decades, since there was a Sunday where no public worship occurred on St Mary's Hampton Church site. Following the Archbishops of Canterbury and York's request for no public worship there will be no public gathering this Sunday.

We are trying to find ways to do church and stay connected.

On Sunday morning there will be a simple filmed liturgy with a sermon available on our website, www.hampton-church.org.uk. We are hoping to live-cast a simplified 11am service and will be testing the technology for this out this afternoon. All the links will be on the front page of our website tomorrow morning.

Given the governments advice to avoid physical social gatherings, Home Groups will not be happening for the foreseeable future. Please do touch base with each other through phone calls, social media, Skype or teleconferencing. We will continue to produce Home Group materials so you can discuss these over the phone or through online gatherings.

If you, someone you know in Hampton, a member of you home group of a neighbour needs practical assistance please can you or them fill a form at www.hampton-church.org.uk/isolation filled out so we can assist.

Blessings,

Ben
