Ben begins a new sermon series where we will be exploring what Holy, Catholic and Apostolic mean. To be holy means to be set apart for Jesus. As a church our function is to worship, proclaim and love Jesus. This is what separates us from everything else.

Jesus calls us to change. We need to allow him to shape our lives and not be content that he loves us just the way we are.

Bring your disappointment, pain, anger and tears to Jesus. His promise of a new life is true.

There is only one answer to darkness: light. Ben prays that the light of Christ rules over our lives.

We do not choose our own spiritual gifts - we allow the Holy Spirit to pour gifts upon us to enable us to do God’s work.

Who do you look up to? When Absalom looks up to his father, David, he is influenced by his transgressions rather than his qualities.

David unites Israel. Here we see a glimpse of God’s plan to unite the world whilst still welcoming diversity.

Ben explores the story of David and Jonathan and their loyalty to each other and then poses the question: Who or what are we loyal to?

David understands that it is not he who is facing Goliath - it is God. Therefore, there is no way that Goliath can win - the battle is the Lord’s.
