  • St Stephen's, Twickenham (map)
A black and white photograph of theologian, Mark Scarlata

St Stephen’s Twickenham welcomes all to hear Rev’d Dr. Mark Scarlata speak on the theme of his most recent book, ‘Sabbath Rest: The Beauty of God's Rhythm for a Digital World’. He will explore the biblical principles of sabbath rest, and connect them to the demands and challenges of the digital age.

Mark is the Old Testament Lecturer at St Mellitus College; Vicar-Chaplain at St Edward, King and Martyr, Cambridge; and a respected author. His previous publications include 'Am I my Brother's Keeper?: Christian Citizenship in a Globalized Society' and ‘The Abiding Presence: A Theological Commentary on Exodus’.

This is a great opportunity to hear a really outstanding theologian. Mark is full of peace and energy, despite leading a church, being a lecturer, publishing books, and having small children! Much of his secret is to do with his own practice of the Sabbath, and his talk will be full of practical wisdom, relevant for anyone who wants to know more refreshment in their lives.

Attendance is free, but please register in advance .
